Why Boiler Softened water Unqualified


Boiler softened water equipment is a pretreatment launched for boiler scaling, which removes calcium and magnesium ions in raw water and other elements that cause boiler scaling.

It is very important that whether boiler equipment can operate safely and economically, and whether soft water qualified. But sometimes the phenomenon of unqualified boiler softened water occurs.

 

First phenomenon and reason:

The water sample be taken at sampling point of equipment is qualified, but in the water in tank be shown to be unqualified.

It denotes that the product water quality of equipment is unstable and there is excessive water into the storage tank.

 

1) If the equipment be set to regenerate based on time, then maybe regeneration cycle is designed to be too long, if set based on flow, then maybe the flow meter is not accurate enough. Which leads to that the resin can not be regenerated timely to let untreated water into water tank directly.

2) The rinse time be set after regeneration is too short, which may lead that part of brine water be flew to water tank.

3) Brine complementary water too less due to the unstable feed water, which cause the concentration of brine not enough to regenerate the rein completely.

4) Not supplement the industrial salt to the brine tank timely, which also leads to the concentration of brine not enough to regenerate the rein completely.

5) The bypass ball valve is open or leaking.

 

Second phenomenon and reason:

The water samples be taken at sampling point of equipment several times are all unqualified.

 

1) The O-ring of center tube does not form a seal.

2) The end of the center pipe shall not be higher than the tank mouth 2mm, and shall not be lower than the tank mouth 5mm.

3) Forget to install the center tube O-ring or the O-ring falls off/damaged/cracked during installation.

4) The running flow rate is too fast. It is strictly forbidden to work at the maximum flow rate allowed by the equipment for a long time.

5) The water inlet and outlet are reversed.

6) Resin be contaminated to lose exchange ability: The high content of Fe3+ and Al3+ in the raw water will pollute the resin (at this time, the color of the resin will become darker and red), which will reduce the resin exchange capacity and reduce the product water capacity. The soft water hardness exceeding the standard caused by this reason is a gradual process, not a sudden and obvious exceeding the standard.

7) There is a large amount of gas in the resin tank, which may come from the air in the feed water, or the check valve is not tightly closed during the slow cleaning process.
